Scumsocks Save You From Skimmer Basket Goop

If you like interesting surprises, then you might actually enjoy peeking into the skimmer baskets each week to see what mystery items have been collected.  But, for many pool-owners, discovering what the weekly contents of the skimmer baskets are is anything but fun.  On a regular basis, you probably find hair, leaves and grasses, bugs, and even pool toys, but you also may occasionally find an unfortunate critter or a mysterious pile of slimy goop.  Sure, you can attempt to empty the basket’s contents by turning it over and tapping on the bottom.  Inevitably, though, you’ll need to use your hand to swipe out whatever items will not come out with even a vigorous tapping — most often, it seems that what is left are the most disgusting bits.

Scumsock Skimmer Filters provide an inexpensive solution for pool owners (like me) who prefer not to come into contact with skimmer basket treasures.  Scumsocks slip over your skimmer basket to catch debris and prevent it from reaching your pool’s filter.  When Scumsocks get dirty, just toss them away.  Additionally, Scumsock Skimmer Filters provide longer filter cycles and require fewer cleanings.

Could lounging at the pool get any more relaxing? Surprisingly, it can with the Ergo Lounger RS. This is so much more than a pool lounge! It is designed to provide a gentle stretch to your neck and back while you enjoy reading, tanning, listening to music, or just relaxing. The Ergo Lounger passively stretches vertebrae in order to relieve nerve and disk pressure and is medically endorsed and recommended by chiropractors and physical therapists. It is lightweight, easy to carry, and comes with a built-in pony tail/face hole for maximum comfort. Its 12″ height creates easy access and is wheelchair accessible. It is the perfect height for moving to and from a wheelchair. Now, people with painful back problems, inhibiting neck aches, and even those just looking for a posture supporting pool chair will be able to relax in the sun.

Flossing Removes More Debris From Pool and Spa Filters

Just as flossing your teeth prevents debris from building up, flossing your pool and spa cartridge filters does the same.  Using a Filter Flosser Deluxe Filter Cleaner allows pool owners to maximize the life of pool and spa cartridge filters while reducing the amount of time, energy, and water spent on regular filter maintenance.

Using the Filter Flosser is easy.  Simply attach your garden hose and spray the filter for a deep down clean.  The unique curved nozzle design provides an extended cleaning area (more than double of other cleaners) helping you to clean 50% faster and use 50% less water. The high pressure water and air agitation reaches deep down between pleats for more thorough cleaning and removes all of the built-up dirt that shortens the life of your cartridge filters.

Safety Covers Keep Children and Pets Safe

Safety Cover

I want to share some rather startling statistics regarding children and pool safety. According to the CDC, drowning is the second leading cause of death for children 1-14 years old. Additionally, the Consumer Product Safety Commission found that 75 percent of the children involved in swimming pool submersion or drowning accidents were between 1 and 3 years old. Owning a pool is a great privilege, but also a huge responsibility. In addition to securing your pool with a fence and installing pool alarms, pool safety covers are the perfect way to keep children and animals from accidental drowning. In order for a cover to be considered a “safety” cover, it must be able to hold a minimum of 485 pounds per five square feet. Since this is much more than the weight of even an average adult, you can be assured that any children or animals that might accidently enter your pool area will be safely supported. Safety covers come in two forms: solid and mesh. Both types of safety covers are anchored to a deck with straps that pull the cover taut over the pool. The straps are usually attached to springs and are anchored to recessed brackets in a deck surface. This gives the cover the necessary tension and strength to support huge amounts of weight. It is important to note that only covers that are designated “safety” covers are designed for this purpose. Solar covers, winter covers, and leaf nets will not aid in drowning prevention. Safety covers are an investment in your family’s protection.

Outdoor Clocks Keep You on Schedule

It’s easy to lose track of time when you’re outside enjoying a dip in your backyard swimming pool.  Mount a weather-proof outdoor clock near the pool side, and you won’t have to worry about being late for appointments, meeting friends, or staying on top of your daily schedule.  Today’s outdoor clocks come in a variety of styles and colors, too, so finding one that suits your personal tastes and your home’s decor is no problem.  And, because outdoor clocks are constructed of weather-proof materials, you can be sure that the one you choose will withstand many years of harsh weather conditions and still be able to keep accurate time.
